Heya Icers!

As you noticed we upgraded the website this afternoon. You can now have a quick preview of IceOp 5.0 and the new social network IceBook. It’s still under construction and no registration is possible yet, everything will come at the same moment IceOp 5.0 will be ready (december). We are in a big private beta phase now, be patient, it will come really soon! We hope you’ll enjoy IceBook and IceOp 5.0 as much we enjoy to build it!

You maybe noticed the new IcePixels page. This page will allow webmasters and room owners to advertise their website and rooms on IceOp.Org for really cheap. It’s only 0.50$ USD per square, all profits will help IceTeam to continue to grow and make things even better! All softwares on our website are free, and we want it stays free, and we are often sollicitated to have possibility to advertise on our page, so we found this solution a good compromise. All the banners on the IcePixels page will be published as long the website exists. (We reserve rights to remove any harmful, violent, racist, discriminatory, terrorist or offensive content as well).

A new update of IceOp is available on our website.

This new version contains no major changes but fixes the Message Box graphical problem of 4.5.

The newest edition of IceOp have several major enhancements. First the auto-open cams for friends allows you to let your IceOp check when your friends join the room and open their cams (no lurker mode).

When you right-click on a cam window, you will have a new menu to ScreenShot this cam. You can save on your computer and we also integrated the report abuse system of Chat-Security.Com (ScreenReport). Have a look in your settings to activate that feature.

The new message box now shows emoticons and text formatting with IceCode (small BBCode like forums). The box can auto-open on message too.

2 new shortcuts, sort cams and close all cams (even when the sorter is off)

If you are using the private warn method, you can now let your IceOp notice your colleagues moderators that you warned a user. They will all receive a notification in their message box if this option is activated.

The new look and feel options allow you to change the plain background color to a two color gradient. You can also hide the border to make the interface even smaller.

The owner dashboard now have a new panel to locate IP to country.

The Cam Sorting feature now contains dual screen support and you can ignore “Your Video” from the sort process.

The Room and IM log can log as plain text or unicode text (beta)

Always wanted to operate via your Camfrog Bot as easily than with your optool for client? It’s now possible with IceOp for BotIM 1.0 ! If you are a Room Owner and you have a Camfrog Bot, give a test drive to that tool!

THIS IS NOT A BOT MODULE - This program is an optool, but instead to send your commands through the room, it sends in your bot IM! You can now kick, punish, warn, ban and send ads to your room without being in your operator/owner nickname in the room!

Because each hardware/software configuration is different…

In order to help us to find, sort and fix the bugs, feel free to use the bug report feature in IceOp and Snow. This feature is visible on all error and exceptions window of the software. You can click on View report to see what informations you are about to send to us, then click on Send Report to fill some useful informations about the problem itself. The generated report contains many informations about the error details and memory localisation, your running processes while it happens, system informations like your video resolution and your RAM memory usage.

The report feature also take a snapshot of your screen when error occurs. You can uncheck the box “Send snapshot” if you prefer not to send us, or click on the thumnail on page 2 of the report to edit it manually in your image editor (to hide some private informations or to highlight something you want to show us to explain more about the problem). An image worths 1000 words often.

Fill out the report with a valid e-mail adress and we may contact you to have more informations about the problem or to give you a permanent or temporary solution if we know what happened. (The Main Support Team works in English, French, Dutch and German, but we also can help in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Thai)

Each report is treated seriously and we collapse the collected informations to find the most common problems and adpat better solutions for next releases. You can decide to not report the bug but we suggest you to do. In order to be able to catch the nature of the bugs we need to compare the bug report of several users.

Another way to communicate with us about some problems who may not raise error windows, contact IceTeam Support via our contact page or on IceForum in the appropriate language sub-section. Our main priority is to get rid of all the potential bugs and to optimize our core, and as user you can help on that.

We noticed a lot of bug reports about Vista usage of Snow and IceOp. We found the problem and a solution.

Run your op tool as administrator should solve the problem. Right-click on the program icon, then Properties.  Under the tab “Compatibility” you should see at the bottom a box “run as administrator”. Check it tehn OK.

Next time you will run your optool, you will be prompted to allow this program. Allow it.

That’s it. You can also disable your Vista User Account Control by the Security Center to unlock your Windows privileges if you are the administrator of your machine.

Sorry for the inconvenience, this bug should be fixed in next versions of our softwares.

Using Kaspersky ? Another problem we noticed is Kaspersky detect the communication kernel of our softwares (version check, online counter, dynamic graphics) as abnormal. If you allow the domains iceteam.org and iceop.org in your adblocker may solve your problem with the settings box.

Our bot plugin may crash the bot on some kind of flood. Until the bug is fixed in Camfrog Server or in our modules, we apologize about some bot failures. It may be a good idea to wait the next release of IceBot (2.0) or a server fix if you experiment too much problems.
